Transiting Towards Your Goal, Where Pain and Joy Fit In

Are You Sure You Failed?

Our hope in life must be on a constant Figure from Whom flows a process that guarantees success. When your confidence is in your pension or any form of government relief program at retirement, then there is a problem with your conviction about life.

A child will not start walking solely because he/ she grew up but because they have the innate ability. It doesn’t mean he can win an Olympic gold the moment he or she start running except the child first develops interest and then train towards achieving the same. We are quick to choose the easier paths in life without considering the fact that, normal and average people are found in the stress-free space. The more reason we tend to immediately want to quit when we face demands (challenges).

When your hope is your pension, then there is a problem with your conviction about life. This same mindset only concludes the main requirement to success in life is being educated, get married and have a house. Are these alone what a man should seek? Sometimes we fail to question our approach towards our achievement, more so, the norms and standards our environment has set for us. Just like we don’t question certain environmental expectation that have been widely accepted to be defined as failure.

How do you feed the hunger within? You cannot move on in life and act as if you don’t know you are beginning to realize you didn’t just drop from the sky to make up the world population. Arnold Scharzenegger in his role as Terminator, fell from the sky for the sole purpose of going back into the time, 1984 from 2029 to terminate Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), whose unborn son will one day save mankind from extinction by a hostile artificial intelligence in a post –apocalyptic future, just a little about the movie and more so now that we are beginning to have robots as companion not to mention robots replacing factory workers.

I will also love to write on the scalability of what you do but for now, let us focus on why you are reading this subject.

The devil asked Jesus the question of His position as a Son because His history from His earthly parent did not suggest the evidence for such audacity to claim the position of the only begotten. More so, the scripture was silent on the subject of what happened to who He looked up to as a father. I want to ask, why was Joseph not present at the Marriage of Cana and in subsequent event involving the Messiah?

Just like some of us have never considered the humanity of Jesus, losing His father only God knows at what age that happened, taking over the father’s carpentry business and the reason he was even despised, the stress He went through, having to wait for the right timing even though He knew why He came from age twelve, so also we may not see ourselves in this light but what you are here for has to do with giving life, not taking it by failing to see yourself as who you ought to be.

You may have been christened a name you feel you will change if you have your way, told what to do all your life, including who to marry but if you can just begin to see yourself as more than the ordinary guy who is trying to survive, then your perception of the world will change.

How simple can it be?

My purpose here is not to paint the life of a doer as a simple and straight path, as a matter of fact, the purpose of the write up is to see how I can help you navigate life on this lane by just bringing one aspect that keep people on a sport and it is called the fear of failure. Friends, rather than just accepting what people define as failure, you might want to choose your own words and the expectations you want to christen failure. This is the reason I called the title “Are You Sure You Failed?”.  For me, I have chosen to call the models for failure “Steps towards perfection” or Steps to Perfection”, whatever you decided to call it, it’s your life like Tyra Banks puts it; “when writing the story of your life, do not let someone else hold the pen or dictate what to write”, I am also saying, you now also need to choose the language you understand.

Friends, you will experience the natural feeling of inadequacies on this path since it will be new but one good thing about creating a part is that, the moment people begin to see your conviction, even before success is achieved, the road stops becoming lonely, people begin to come into the brightness of the fire you are igniting as you move forward with your faith.

Let me also prepare your mind, faith does not move in a supersonic car that aims to go 1000 miles per hour because it’s been built with the capacity to move with such speed. Let me tickle you a little, this car passed it first test in England with the record of covering a mile in just over 3.6 seconds.

Most times, the change you expect could even be agonizingly slower in actual sense but your ability to see your failing as steps towards perfection is alone the real power to keep moving ahead. I believe this mindset was what kept Thomas Edison going in his quest to inventing the light bulb. This is just to say that for some of us who do not have a foundation from parents, as difficult as it could get, it is an opportunity to start building according to the pattern of our dreams.

Friends, I will tell you another thing, yet the greatest. I have seen people who have this capacity, who were also given every advantage but couldn’t walk, not to talk of running.  That is because, it is God that enables the capacity. God rules and reigns in the affairs of men so you cannot but give glory to Him for the success you have. Your brain cannot take you anywhere because before you will eventually attain this success, you need to be empowered.

For me, failing is quitting, it is not falling short, for I have never seen a child walking and running without falling while trying to take steps, so also in your role as a child, parent, employee or a boss.  When you fail to push yourself or step on the required new standards, the “who you should be” required of you, will struggle, it’s a principle, it’s a law, it is the law of Value.

In our next topic, we will try to explore how you can survive the days of confusion. TD Jakes said, he has never seen a great achiever who never went through the period called confusion. This was all I needed to survive the days my future literarily felt dusky.
